Our final picture on "Mapache" is that we were able to give the owner of this place a refurbished computer (donated by one of our supporting Churches).  Augustine & his wife, Victoria, have opened their back yard for a Christian witness for many years.  On this computer are Spanish Bible lessons and Christian DVD's that he can use to invite people to share the good news of Jesus when the Pastor from P.V. is not able to come.
We are praying that God will send someone to help him with his vision to reach out to his community about Jesus.
After the meal was over, Carole gave out New Testaments to everyone who did not receive a Bible last year, and we gave out lots of clothes & sports shirts & shorts that were donated by several friends from the USA & Canada.
This is our friend, Joanne, who lives in Puerto Vallarta for several months & spends endless hours buying supplies & making up crafts with a Bible message for the children.
After craft, every person who came received a huge bolillo (great tasting roll) ham & cheese sandwich and a juicy tangerine. Many came back for seconds!  For dessert they all got chocolate covered cookies.
We just can't get enough of these precious kids!
This baby was receiving lots of love!

After the singing & message, Everyone helps with a craft.  The children & even the adults love this.
Young & old enjoy the day!
Here's a group of the girls & a few boys in this area.  They were spread all over the back yard of Augustine & Victoria.  We usually have had close to 100 kids when we're able to bring the Pastor, but we found out that the migrant worker's were out in the fields picking tomatos, & alot of the children work with them.
Here's a close-up of Isac.  He just loves the kids!  Unfortunately, he has no other way of coming here without help from our friends.  Romans 10:14- "...how can they hear without someone preaching to them?"
Please pray that God would send someone to be a steady witness in this village.
Pastor Isac is playing songs & the kids are singing their hearts out!  He has a wonderful repore with the children.
"Christian" is getting acquainted with the hog & sharing his water with her.
On Sunday, we joined two other cars & one motorcycle to bring workers, a "Pastor", and lots of supplies to a poor village named, Mapache - which is two hours south of Puerto Vallarta.  We invited a worker from the Salvation Army to go with us, & let him borrow Peter's "Relevant shirt" instead of the long sleeve black one he was wearing.  He knows alittle English, & thought it would be a good experience for him.  This older man's brother owns the property where the Church service is held only 3 times a year (I had thought it was once a month).  No one is able to drive the Pastor to & from this place at other times of the year.

We were instructed by the boys to turn down this path toward their home, to which we refused & let them out to walk the rest of the way home.  It's always sad to drop them off, because most of the time they are "latch key" kids & no one there to meet them.  We've given them and their Mom New Testaments, and pray that they will read them & that the Holy Spirit would draw them to Jesus.  Please pray with us for these precious children.
Many times after our English class, we take two of our students home in a neighboring town.  A couple of days ago, the 10 year old told us he would show us the way they walk home, as opposed to the regular streets.  It was quite an experience & quite "creepy"!  We passed these "houses", and huge holes in the road filled with water & heard how in one place, they encountered a crocodile in a swampy area!  Any of you Moms out there willing to send your kids home this "short cut"?
Market day takes place every Monday in Mojonares, right in the street (both sides), & in the town plaza.  Every town, no matter what the size, has a town plaza, where special events take place, market day, and the many "fiestas" .  It's great for the local people who don't have the $ for bus fare to go to the bigger towns, etc.  It's quite a work of art to see how they set up their spots to sell their goods.
And one block down the street lives this little lady who has been visited by many people who come & go at the Salvation Army.
This is my favorite house in this poor village of Mojonares, & almost the only one that looks like you would want to live there.
This is little Nahamy, who is the youngest girl in the class, but she works so hard to keep up with the older ones. She is so cute!
This is Jose, and he's reading a bi-lingual book about David & Goliath.  English is too hard for him yet, but he did a great job in front of the class reading in Spanish.

In this town lived a Christian couple who worked there for 12 years or more. They were like parents to the children & growing families.  They were to the point of finishing a building for a Church & center for this area, but ran out of money.  They had to leave & find work to just survive.  The people still meet together as much as possible - like just a gathering under trees & invite other Christians to come, but they are a people without a shepherd.  Please pray that God would send a couple to continue a light for Jesus there.
This is the beautiful Salvation Army building that Christians donated money for a place for the children in this very poor town to come to & play & get a hot meal each day. The girls love to play jump-rope.
The average attendance is 14 in the class.  We're having a fun time learning English/Espanol.
Carole teaching English at Salvation army four days a week, & helping w/"crafts" the other day.

We arrived safely in Puerto Vallarta on Thursday afternoon, which is just beyond this row of mountains. We thank all who prayed for us, and for a large (needed for our 3 dogs)& quiet site for us to be for the next four weeks of ministry.  We have been
"connecting" with co-workers, and mapping out a plan.  We met the new "Captains" of the Salvation Army, where we work with the children preparing food & teaching English, and were thrilled to find a couple who love Jesus & have a vision that makes us so thankful to God for answered prayer!!
The sky & all is so beautiful here as Peter walks back to get ready to leave the next day for Puerto Vallarta.  How can anyone deny that our awesome God created all this?
Unlike "Julia" in the picture below, we got to know this young man who thinks he has the world all figured out.  He has owned this catamaran for 4 years now, & has traveled "solo", going from place to place.  When I offered him a bi-lingual N.T., he laughed & told me it was just a "storybook".  He told me I sounded like his mother. (I pray for her). After an interesting discussion & his refusal of God's Word, I told him to just think about the TRUTH I was telling him, and as he scoffed, I told him that if HE was correct in his thinking, we both had nothing to lose, but if God's Word was true, and my belief in Christ is truth, he had EVERYTHING to lose, including his soul.  With that said, he shook my hand & took off on his paddle board to his prize boat.
This is "Julia", one of the indigenous people from the mountain area.  She does beautiful work, and we want to help in a small way by buying from her.  When we offered her a New Testament, she told us she could read Spanish, & was thrilled to get the Bible.  Please pray for her, that she would come to know Jesus.
The views & mostly "empty" beach are a relaxing treat in itself.  One day we were able to give all our remaining children's shoes to the kindergarten teacher in town (about 25 pair).  Since they have 50 children in Kindergarten, and we have distributed shoes there the past two years, we told the teacher to give them out to the most needy families.
We stayed in Punta Perula to have alittle rest before going to our next stop.  This is our trailer, where we hear the waves pounding into shore, & more pics to follow.

After three wonderful weeks of ministry in Playa Azul, we have said our "goodbyes" for this year, & will be praying that God would lead for plans for next year.  We are now in Punta Perula, Jalisco, for a few days of rest & then on Thursday morning we will leave early for Puerto Vallarta.  Please pray for road safety, and for a good site for us & our dogs who accompany us.  We have fellow workers who are waiting for us, and we ask for your prayers as we plan with them as God leads.  Thank you for standing with us.
