This precious little boy has it all. Shoes-tract-& Bible! When God answere prayer, it's ALWAYS more than we ask or think! It's so exciting to serve our Lord!

This girl was so intently reading the Christian tract, that she didn't even care about the shoes. We made sure her mother received a N.T. as well.

As the people left, Carole handed out N.T.'s to the adults & tracts to the children. Most of the people wanted to thank the Christian friends in Lake Wylie who gave so generously to them. I told them to thank God, because we did this in His name.

I think "Concha" invited half the people who live here in Playa Azul! The children & adults kept pouring in for over an hour! Even this dad made a way to bring his family. (notice the machete tied to the basket).

One day I prayed that God would send people to ME, who needed to have His Word-since I don't speak spanish. About 1/2 hr. later, a woman named "Concha", who owns a restaurant where we ate one night, invited me to her palapa to sit in the shade. She called an interpreter over & we planned out an evening where she would invite people to receive shoes, & we would give out God's Word.

These people want to thank everyone in S.C. who donated shoes for them. THANK YOU!!

We went back to our friends home(in their mid-70's, who speak ONLY spanish). Adelaida walked into her village & invited lots of people to come to her place to get shoes for their children & themselves.About 30min. later, she came in a truck with a bunch of kids in the back & a HUGE smile on her face as she led them into her home! More groups came later & we tried to outfit them all, as well as give them copies of God's Word.

On our way back from a large grocery store, we saw some local people gathering around a lagoon. We drove down a bumpy dirt road & a man was feeding these CROCODILES (4 feet away), some chicken parts! We counted 15 of them. No fences or guards! Only in Mexico!

We appreciate your prayers for these dear people who live in fear of death, and who need to know that only through faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross can they KNOW they have eternel life (I John5:13).
JESUS in our only HOPE.

The next three pictures represent the Day of the Dead, which is the 3rd most important Mexican holiday. It is a pagan celebration, when relatives worship the dead with food, offerings, parades & visits to cemeteries.

Elaborate cemeteries

Many "monuments" & markers along the road to honor Mary or loved ones who died in accidents.

As we see these next pictures, all that cries out to us is: NO HOPE!!

These ladies were making great sandwiches on their "grill". We gave them N. T.'s as well.

Please pray for this girl, Sol, who asked Carole to write her name, add., & e-mail in the N.T. so she could keep contact with her.

Hello again! At various tourist stops, these little shops & "restaurants" line the way!

Each year we come to see these dear folks, they have a different grandchild living with them. This year, their 14 yr. old "Victor" was there, He was showing Peter the fish they were about to cook. We gave him a game of checkers, & he ALMOST beat Carole!

Yesterday we went to see some friends who ONLY speak spanish! We gave them shoes & clothing, and they wouldn't let us leave until they fed us a gourmet meal of huge shrimp! Next week they will invite some needy neighbors, and we'll give out more of God's Word & shoes.

Adelaida was teaching Carole how to make fresh tortillas. She wasn't good at making the fire, though.

Today we´re using a different computer, so the pictures are coming up. We´ve been in the mountains until yesterday. The charm and culture is incredible in these little towns, and we´ve had some great times giving out God´s Word. We´ll try to post some of the scenes along the way. Within 45 min. going toward the coast, the weather changed from 37 degrees to 65 and 4 hours later, it was 87degrees!!

Finally, a wireless connection at our campground! We drove through many towns before experiencing a blowout in our new tire, but everything went well, having our personal mechanic onboard! Several men offered to help, which gave us opportunities to discuss God's Word. We were happy to find a Goodyear Tire Co. close by, in Aguascalientes, and were able to buy a new tire. From there we went to Guadajuato, where it is known for their underground tunnels throughout the entire city. We went on our little scooter through the tunnels, & it was quite an experience - sort of like the subways of NYC- only cars zooming out in front & behind us from all angles! We are trying to post pictures to show you, but not being successful at this time. We had wonderful talks with the owners of the campground, and one of the workers asked us for a second NT to give to someone!

When we left here, we journeyed to a little town near Ocampo, in the state of Michoacan, where the monarch butterflies hibernate for the winter by the thousands! Carole went part way up the mountain, & Peter made it all the way! If we ever get the pictures to post, you will see little black "specks" in the sky above the trees. They mainly were in the treetops! But Carole had a great time below, talking to several people, and making connections to e-mail them! It was a real highlight of our trip so far, and a chance to spend time with the nationals.

HOLA!! Thanks to the Lord, we have had a smooth and safe trip since we left S.C. on Fri., Jan.2. Today is the 5th, and we have traveled 1,754 mi. in the states, and 268 mi. today in Mexico. The visa officer at the border asked what our business was in Mx., so we shared with him our plans and showed him a Spanish N.T. He asked if he could have one, and he told us he loved God and would read it. Peter gave a copy to a gas attendant along the way, and he was still reading it as we left. Because of the language barrier, it's comforting to know that God's Word will not return to Him void (Isa.55:11).
