Many evenings we would have some of the townspeople come to our trailer for shoes.  We only have a few left, but we seem to be able to fit most of the people with shoes.  We have many opportunities to share God's Word with them as well.
These are our friends we've known for 9 years & last year they asked Jesus into their lives.  What a great time we had with them as our interpreter spoke to them & to see how they have grown in their faith!  They live in a simple house carved into the mountain, but Adelaida has beautiful plants all around her home & the Pacific ocean a stone's throw away!  They explained to our interpreter that they loved us so much because we cared about the "humble" people.  What a compliment, & what a joy to know that they are children of the King of Kings & Lord of Lords for all eternity!  Praise God!!
While in Playa Azul, we try to use every opportunity to reach out to others that we know do not follow Jesus.  These indigenous Indian people come down from the mountain areas where they live, & sell their wares on the beaches.  This lady was making me a special bracelet right in front of me, as these little girls came to "help" her with their little hands in the bags of jewelry & passing pieces to her.  A great opportunity to hand out God's Word, because many of the "younger" ones know how to read & speak Spanish.  Please pray for all the Bibles we handed out, that they will take the time to READ & follow His message to them.

This is a little guy who crossed the street to see what was going on at Church one day.  No one at his house seemed to care!
I Peter 3:15 tells us that we must be ready with an answer for the hope that is in you.
  Are YOU ready?
After Pastor Matt preached & taught Bible studies, Pastor Marciano had Peter take his place!  The only problem was that he only gave Peter about a 15 minute notice!
Peter & I helped choose the name of this precious baby - Deborah - after the prophet & judge who obeyed God & brought PEACE to Israel for forty years during her reign.

We were invited to a meal at a friend's house, & enjoyed eating among the shade trees in their yard.
Please pray for Freddy, (second from left).  He is asking for guidance about continuing his education in full time ministry.  Matt is encouraging him to come to the USA this summer & check some opportunities out.
We all had the pleasure of Pastor Marco's hospitality at his "Alaska" restaurant in Lazaro Cardenas. What a dedicated Christian to have on board in ministry for Jesus!

When Pastor Matt & JC were here, we stopped to see the crocodiles.  I counted 9, & the guys counted 13.  Either way, one must be very careful where you "cool off" in the waters around here.  The river runs right into the ocean.

A very successful night is over. This was the largest "event" this town has ever had! We may never know the full extent of this special time until we reach Heaven!  God gets the glory& praise, & we thank our friends for praying for us.  This little boy is saying: "Gracias, and Adios"
Not every child wants a pair of shoes.  This one was hiding from his mother under a table.
We enlisted two young friends who are bi-lingual, and they did a fantastic job in helping & interpreting for us (white hat).

Now the real work begins!
At all good Mexican "endings", there are fireworks, and this last sign shows a "house" of Dios.  NOW, everyone who wants shoes may go into the Church, where the shoes are all set up, & about 15 or 20 people at a time go in, choose their shoes, receive a Bible & return home.
All 3 Pastors on stage. Marco on L., Marciano from Playa Azul is the interpreter, and Matt is giving a challenge before the start of the event, & greeted very warmly by the crowd.
This is Pastor Marco, wife-Elia, & daughter Eunice at his work in the market place. We had our planning meeting there with Pastor Matt & J.C. for the big event this past Sat. Great godly man with a vision for reaching souls for Jesus!

We have had many opportunities to share w/individuals God's Word.  Pastor Marciano just gave this young girl a N.T.
The slow service here is hard for me to work w/the blog, but to tell you that Pastor Marco had advertised for this event & God brought more people than we imagined!  He rented 400 chairs, and well over 600 people showed up!  They were given #'s as they came for getting shoes at the end of the program.  We played a 30 minute DVD from the Billy Graham ministries, and the singing, praising, and worshiping was beyond expectation.  After an invitation was given, we worked for about 3 hours handing out shoes, and Bibles, and finally had to stop at 10:30pm!  We were all exhausted, but praising God for the response of the people!

We arrived in Playa Azul on Wed., Jan. 7, and got all set up to stay here for approx. 3 weeks.  The next day, Peter & Pastor Marciano drove two hours to Zihuatanejo to pick up our Pastor Matt & a friend from our Church in Lake Wylie, SC from the airport.  It was a great time for all of us, as we had so much work ahead of us, and they were all our partners in this ministry! Pastor Marciano is the sole interpreter for us, and we are blessed for his willingness to help these many years.  On Friday we made plans with a pastor who had organized a huge event for Saturday.  (THANK YOU) for your prayers for the safety of our shoes & Bibles getting to the right place for this one of a kind outreach in the city of Petacalco.

I'm sorry we haven't been able to keep up with our blog due to lack of internet or just rushing to keep up with the schedule.  At one of our stops along the way, we met a couple from Germany who were on their way to Argentina, and we offered the wife a bi-lingual N.T.  She was so surprised, because just two days before, she had told someone that she wished she had a Bible in Spanish/English!  I told her that God is an awesome God, and HE promises that if we seek Him, we will find Him, and she was seeking His Word, and this meeting was no accident!!  This was such a thrill to see God at work, if we only are willing to step out and serve Him!

Our stop in Zacatacus. Two more nights to go before we reach our 1st destination.
Taken before we left.  How can we stuff all these bags of shoes into our camper?

Saturday, January 3, 2015

Hola Friends!  We left home on Dec. 31, and crossed the border today without any problems!!  Thank God and all our supporters who have joined us on this journey!  We are now in Saltillo & plan to drive to Zacatacus tomorrow. Keep in touch, & when possible, we'll send pictures.
