Today we will be crossing the border into the USA. We want to thank all who had a part in our journey, whether it was donating shoes, clothing, or sharing in expenses or your prayers. God will reward you for your special gifts shared with the needy in Mexico. We leave here with mixed emotions, and ask that you would continue to pray for those who we had the priviledge of meeting and sharing the good news of Jesus with. We know that God's Word will never return to Him empty, but will accomplish what He desires. Muchas Gracias!

Our friends followed us to another camping spot, so we had breakfast together & shared testimonies & God's Word with them Sun. morning. We thank God for many opportunities He's given us to share how awesome a God we serve!

This is the way the little ones help their parents to sell their wares. Anyone for trying to carry this on their heads without dropping it?

Carole is sharing some important verses.

On our last day at Rincon Guayabitos on the Pacific coast, Carole prayed for someone to come by who needed encouragement or the written Word of God. These Indian women & their children stopped by to sell their wares, & when Carole gave them a NT, they were so thrilled, & told her they were Christians! They loved the Bibles, and we gave the children tracts about how to ask Jesus in their hearts. One lady took a little 2"X2" booklet about Jesus out of her purse & showed it to me. It made me cry to see how one little gesture from someone before me, made such a difference in their lives! What an awesome God!! If you love Jesus, please share the GOOD NEWS.

This little one was sitting on the floor, so Carole grabbed her up for a hug.

No matter where we travel, Carole always manages to find a little one to hug & love! Aren't they precious?!

This little cutie didn't make it through the craft time. They have very long days!

After the lesson, the children do a craft. This day they are making the whale who swallowed Jonah!

This is the Pastor, who works daily with the children & families who live in this very poor neighborhood. He's teaching the story of Jonah & the whale.

The kids love him & his wife!

We found a new place near the PV dump that not only meets the children's physical needs, but is a strong witness for Jesus. Here they are singing,"I'm in the Lord's Army" with all their hearts!

The villagers brought us fish they caught in the river & joined us for a couple of meals by the river.

This amigo dropped off a bag of fresh corn for all of us to eat. His mule is the best mode of transportation in this rocky mountainous region.

Our friends prepared fresh river shrimp soup for us - which was delicious!

This is the only way to get to the next village! We even saw a bus going through the river! I don't know what they do in the rainy season!

Setting up camp by the river in Agua Jote.

This past weekend we visited a village we have gone to before about 3 hours from PV into the interior. This is a look at one of the Mt. roads we traveled on with our truck!

One day we went with the church to deliver beans & rice to a couple of schools for families in need.

While we were helping in the kitchen at the Salvation Army in PV, this little one needed a hug from Peter It's rewarding to serve the Lord!

The children are given a vitamin, & then are required to brush their teeth after each meal served. For most of them, this may be the only meal they will eat today.

I think we fed about 40 neighborhood children, & one family in need of a meal. And then we did all the dishes! But it was fun to serve the Lord & work together. Our friends from Ct. helped us out!

This is the first round of plates to serve the children.

When we got done cutting the corn off the cobs, one of the workers asked us if we'd like to take the COBS to a poor lady down the street. I was glad for the opportunity to meet this dear lady, but still have no idea what she would do with corn cobs with no corn on them! I did have the chance to give her a tract on salvation, though.

This week we helped out at the Salvation Army in their brand new facility.Carole is chopping up vegetables for the children's lunch, which is served every day at noon.

Their motorcycles were loaded with supplies for their 3 month trip. (and Peter thinks I pack alot)!

Last night we had 5 "bikers" camp behind us in tents! (Peter went to the owner & asked special permission for them). They are all Christians, who are traveling from Oregon & Ariz. to Chile! We fixed breakfast for them before they left on their journey, and it was great fun to have the opportunity to get to know them.

We dropped off some shoes, clothing and candy to these kids who go to school in La Placita during the week (because there are no teachers or schools in their far away villages), and then they return home on the weekends. They promised to sing for a video that I can take back with me next year!

This is Peter's interpretation of a Mexican washing machine! It actually works!

God led us one morning to this man, who is a Pastor of a small Church where we are staying. When he heard Peter was a "Gideon", he invited us to speak at his Church.

This precious little boy has it all. Shoes-tract-& Bible! When God answere prayer, it's ALWAYS more than we ask or think! It's so exciting to serve our Lord!

This girl was so intently reading the Christian tract, that she didn't even care about the shoes. We made sure her mother received a N.T. as well.

As the people left, Carole handed out N.T.'s to the adults & tracts to the children. Most of the people wanted to thank the Christian friends in Lake Wylie who gave so generously to them. I told them to thank God, because we did this in His name.

I think "Concha" invited half the people who live here in Playa Azul! The children & adults kept pouring in for over an hour! Even this dad made a way to bring his family. (notice the machete tied to the basket).

One day I prayed that God would send people to ME, who needed to have His Word-since I don't speak spanish. About 1/2 hr. later, a woman named "Concha", who owns a restaurant where we ate one night, invited me to her palapa to sit in the shade. She called an interpreter over & we planned out an evening where she would invite people to receive shoes, & we would give out God's Word.

These people want to thank everyone in S.C. who donated shoes for them. THANK YOU!!

We went back to our friends home(in their mid-70's, who speak ONLY spanish). Adelaida walked into her village & invited lots of people to come to her place to get shoes for their children & themselves.About 30min. later, she came in a truck with a bunch of kids in the back & a HUGE smile on her face as she led them into her home! More groups came later & we tried to outfit them all, as well as give them copies of God's Word.

On our way back from a large grocery store, we saw some local people gathering around a lagoon. We drove down a bumpy dirt road & a man was feeding these CROCODILES (4 feet away), some chicken parts! We counted 15 of them. No fences or guards! Only in Mexico!

We appreciate your prayers for these dear people who live in fear of death, and who need to know that only through faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross can they KNOW they have eternel life (I John5:13).
JESUS in our only HOPE.

Building on the side of the road
The next three pictures represent the Day of the Dead, which is the 3rd most important Mexican holiday. It is a pagan celebration, when relatives worship the dead with food, offerings, parades & visits to cemeteries.

Elaborate cemeteries

Many "monuments" & markers along the road to honor Mary or loved ones who died in accidents.

As we see these next pictures, all that cries out to us is: NO HOPE!!

These ladies were making great sandwiches on their "grill". We gave them N. T.'s as well.

Please pray for this girl, Sol, who asked Carole to write her name, add., & e-mail in the N.T. so she could keep contact with her.

Hello again! At various tourist stops, these little shops & "restaurants" line the way!

Each year we come to see these dear folks, they have a different grandchild living with them. This year, their 14 yr. old "Victor" was there, He was showing Peter the fish they were about to cook. We gave him a game of checkers, & he ALMOST beat Carole!

Yesterday we went to see some friends who ONLY speak spanish! We gave them shoes & clothing, and they wouldn't let us leave until they fed us a gourmet meal of huge shrimp! Next week they will invite some needy neighbors, and we'll give out more of God's Word & shoes.

Adelaida was teaching Carole how to make fresh tortillas. She wasn't good at making the fire, though.
