We got to Church alittle late, because we ran into a family we had met last year, and we gave them N.T.'s. The husband reached in his wife's purse & pulled out her Gideon N.T. & told us that she takes it everywhere she goes, and reads it every day! What a JOY to know people are reading God's Word, and lives are being changed - in spite of our lack of Spanish!
When we got to Church, the walls were vibrating with music from their Praise Team! We could hear them a block away! (Wish they could visit Relevant)! We were very pleased how God was "growing" this little Church. A "LIGHT" for Jesus! Praise His name!

Tomorrow, Jan. 15, we will attend a Spanish speaking Church in the morning, and Pastor Marciano will go with us in the afternoon as we bring lots of our shoes & Bibles to an older couples home, where they invite the whole village they live in to come to their house to receive their gifts. Pray that this special couple will be open to what the Pastor will share with them about their need for a Savior.

On Friday, we left Patzcuaro to take a long ride south to our present destination for two weeks in Playa Azul. As we were driving, Peter realized that we were too short on "Pesos" to have enough to buy fuel and pay for the very expensive tolls. We just prayed that somehow God would help us in our situation. When we got to the 4th & 5th toll booths on this long stretch of road, there were over 30 University students who had overtaken the toll booths! The regular toll collectors had taken off, and the one lone policeman waved us on! We were laughing at how God had answered our prayers & saw us through a "touchy" situation!

As we were about to leave our camping spot, one of the workers hurried over with a gift of some kind of fruit he had just picked, and we gave him a pair of shoes, and a Bible. He was literally "dancing" with joy! What fun!

Before we left for our next destination, our friend, Juan Carlos, asked us to visit the Christian school, that his wife started in Sept. We had been praying for this new endeavor, so we were excited to see this work at their Church facilities. We met the Pastor (holding up a N.T.),and all of the children. Carole gave a challenge to the children to let their "light" shine for Jesus, while Juan Carlos interpreted. We gave each student a copy of the children's NIV New Testament in Spanish, and they were so excited! One little boy asked me if I would please sign his Bible in the space provided, and I ended up signing all 40 of them! It was such a joy to see each one having their very own portion of God's Word!

Sorry for no picture, but wanted you all to know that our border crossing went very smoothly! Thank you for praying. We are now about 200 miles south of the border in Saltillo, Mx. We already have passed out several N.T., and two pr. of shoes to two of the workers at the hotel! Tomorrow we leave for Zacatacus for a one night stop before continuing on our way. We won't have internet until at least Friday.

GREETINGS!! The Peter Borgmans are FINALLY ready to leave out of our driveway for our trip back to Mexico. We had a wonderful Christmas with all 17 of our family together & 4 friends! So, we are leaving a little later than usual, but excited to go! We will travel the "southern route", and probably stay in Al. for tonight, then two more nights in Tx. before going over the border.
Our camper has never been so PACKED with at least 400 prs. of shoes, and 250 Spanish New Testaments. We had a great spirit of excitement and help from our friends, who donated all those shoes, and we sincerely thank you. We just "feel" the Lord's hand on us, as so many of you have been praying for this trip and ministry. We couldn't do this without all your help in so many ways.
We just wanted to let you know that we are about to start, and we won't have access to internet service until we get to our first overnight in Mexico. We pray that we will have good news to tell of a "smooth" and safe border crossing! So, just jump on board, and travel with us as we share God's Word together. Love in Christ, Peter & Carole
